Enhancing the Student Experience at Exeter One

Self Architects has successfully completed the internal refurbishment of Exeter One, a 219-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation development located close to Exeter city centre.

The project focused on enhancing and refreshing a range of accommodation spaces to improve the overall student living experience. Works included furniture upgrades and redecoration throughout student bedrooms, self-contained studios, and communal cluster kitchens, creating a modern, welcoming, and functional environment for residents.

To minimise disruption and ensure the accommodation remained operational, the refurbishment was carefully planned and delivered in a series of phased works. This approach enabled the project team to complete the enhancements efficiently while preparing the building for occupation ahead of the 2026/27 academic year.

The completed scheme has revitalised the internal spaces, providing students with high-quality accommodation that meets the expectations of modern student living while extending the lifespan and appeal of the existing asset.
