Self Interior Designer Helen Davis has raised £400 for two children’s charities after completing a gruelling Lakeland fell race.

The 39-year-old took part in the Old County Tops Fell Race in the Lake District. The demanding race covers 37 miles and involves 10,000 feet of ascent starting and finishing in Great Langdale on a route that takes in the tops of Helvellyn, Scafell Pike and Coniston.

Helen completed the course in 10 hours and 35 minutes raising £400 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for their very generous donations which will be going to two excellent charities,” said Helen, a keen runner and member of Steel City Striders running club.

“Children of family and friends have recently gone through the trauma of cancer treatment and meningitis and I know just how awful that is and just how fantastic the work of Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Cancer Research UK Kids is."

Helen’s total was also boosted by a coffee morning held at Self's Sheffield Headquarters.
