Self Architects was commissioned by a private client to generate a Strategic Development Framework for a major site located close to the M1 motorway near Chesterfield in Derbyshire.
The document produced aims to set out a high-level development framework for two, adjacent sites in Bolsover, Derbyshire. It sets out a vision of what it is possible to achieve within the context of physical characteristics of the site, planning and future opportunities. This is a masterplan vision, which seeks to envisage what the overall development of the site might look like in, say 10 years.
The study behind this document addresses the key issues and it seeks to identify and suggest areas for further study by prospective developers.
Site A is 27.9 Hectares (68.9 Acres) and lies to the west of Woodhouse Lane, Site B is 28.2 Hectares (69.7 Acres) and lies to the east of Woodhouse Lane. The starting point in developing a response for each site has been to consider Site A for Industrial development and Site B for Residential development. Both these sites represent a long-term, strategic development opportunity for potential occupiers and developers.
