Planning Approval for conversion of a Nottingham Hotel to Student Accommodation

Self recently received planning approval for their conversion design of the existing Travelodge, on Maid Marion Way, Nottingham, to 121 student studios.

The 10-storey building of an 8 floor tower sitting on a 2 storey plinth, will have it’s 1970 elevations refurbished. The subtle sequence of greys is designed to lift the tired facade but avoid a gaudy makeover on this main Nottingham thoroughfare. The generous hotel rooms will be converted into student studios, with additional rooms created at 1st floor in the podium space above the ground floor shops. A suite of amenity space will be created at 1st floor around the reception hub.
