Client: House of Fraser
Size: 64,000 ft²
Completed in August 2017, the ‘fashionably beautiful’ Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre brings together the very best in shopping with one of Northamptonshire’s outstanding areas of natural beauty.
The newly constructed 64,000ft² department store is House of Fraser’s first store at an out-of-town retail and leisure complex and also their first sustainable store as every aspect of its architecture and interior is designed to connect with its beautiful natural setting.
Following successful projects in 2016, the internationally inspirational department store retailer appointed Self to complete the design and delivery for the multi-million pound fit out (retail, back of house and ancillary) of the new build store.
The interior connects beautifully with the store’s natural setting and even includes a naturally lit, 48m² living wall in the central atrium which is home to more than 2,000 indoor plants.
