House of Fraser Rushden Lakes

Rushden Lakes, Northampton

Completed: January, 1970

Service: Interior Design

Sector: Retail

Client: House of Fraser

Size: 64,000 ft²

Self completed the design and delivery for the £multi-million fit out (retail, back of house and ancillary) of the new build store. The 64,000ft² department store is House of Fraser’s first store at an out-of-town retail and leisure complex and their first sustainable store, as every aspect of its architecture and interior is designed to connect with the beautiful natural setting. The interior connects beautifully with the store’s natural setting and even includes a naturally lit, 48m² living wall in the central atrium which is home to more than 2,000 indoor plants. The ‘fashionably beautiful’ Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre is set in one of Northamptonshire’s outstanding areas of natural beauty.
