Client: Peak Edge

Size: 26 additional bedrooms + 1,117m² additional amenity space

Self Architect’s design for a large hotel extension and luxury spa located in the beautiful surrounds on the edge of the Peak District, has achieved planning approval in this sensitive location. This project continues Self’s successful relationship with the client, having completed six earlier projects for the hotel, after working on the original hotel development several years ago.

The project comprises the construction of a new 2.5-storey hotel wing containing 29 luxury bedrooms, a 2-storey luxury spa treatment suite and with associated landscaping works. The design respects its context of the Peak District, with its vernacular use of robust ashlar stone walls, slate overhanging roofs and exposed timber and adds to the existing assembly of buildings framing the pond.
