Weaver Place is a new build scheme in the heart of Coventry city centre for iQ, with phase 1 providing 872 student beds. Self were directly commissioned by iQ to design all the student amenity spaces and administrative spaces for the two building over 3 floors each.
A range of spaces are designed to flow together, but also create defined areas for lounges, games room, private dining, study, a cinema and a gymnasium. Wood has been extensively used in the design, in the slated wall to the stairs, a tree like umbrella over the lounge and wall linings.
Adding Interior Design to Student Accommodation
Weaver Place joins several student interior design projects, where Self’s interior designers have been commissioned to give the amenity and common areas a distinct character with warmth to create a nurturing environment for the student population.
