Helen Davis Completes Extraordinary 24-Hour Race

24th October 2019

Congratulations to Senior Interior Designer Helen Davis who successfully completed The Bob Graham Round; the 66-mile, 27,000 ft of ascent circuit of 42 of the highest peaks in the English Lake District within 24 hours.

Helen, pictured with legendary fell runner Joss Naylor at the awards dinner, had a schedule of 23 hours and 30 minutes to complete the challenge but finished it in 23 hours and 29 minutes, an amazing effort! Helen now joins an elite club of runners, with just over 2400 members and only about 200 women in the Bob Graham 24 Hour Club.

Established in 1932 by Bob Graham at the age of 32, the 42 Peak Round has become a testing ground for the supremely fit. Around 100 fell runners attempt the 27,000 ft of ascent each year (almost the height of Everest!), however only one in three return to the Keswick Moot Hall before the 24-hour clock runs down, making Helen’s achievement even more extraordinary!

In the build up to the challenge, Helen also completed the Old County Tops Fell Race, running over 37 miles including 10,000 feet of ascent, and raising £400 for two fantastic charities in the process.
