The feasibility study forms the starting point of most of our projects, with our experience we can quickly analyse the site and maximise the potential form, to allow the client to assess the viability. At commencement the feasibility study of site analysis, massing studies and viability, forms the basis from which the concept design is developed.
Site Analysis
Analysis of a site for constraints and opportunities sets the criteria for the project and is the starting point for us, from which all the initial design stems. The analysis of the site and surroundings covers building use, listed buildings, height, urban grain, landscape, and access and connectivity, which all build up to create an informed understanding of the site and context.
Massing Studies
We use massing studies to test options in their context, to ensure that the proposal is realistic, follows planning guidance and is a positive addition to the location. This develops a robust scale of development that can be tested by the client for viability. Massing models are then used as an effective, tool to engage with planners, at an early stage.
Viability
With the feasibility study a detailed area schedule is produced to allow the client to run their viability calculations at an early stage and shape the design.
